Where can I find a desktop stat tracker like you and others have klah?

I'd love to have that instead of the damn task manager all the time.

Im too lazy to find a custom theme, so im just using the standard luna right now..

btw, I have a link to a site, which has a modified version of UXTHEME.dll, the dll that controls themes.. Simply by replacing your current one allows you to have themes without that StyleXP stuff, which just waistes HD space, and memory :)

Once I find it, I'll post it..

That file is here: http://www.tgtsoft.com/download.asp. (last file on page: UxTheme Util; 17 KB)

It is a little more complicated than just replacing the original uxtheme.dll file though.

hey, worked like a charm...thanks i was wondering how to do it without that bloated stylexp program. it is great,

Hmm, well I got the uxtheme.dll file. All I need to do is replace the one in the windows directory. But I can't seem to do it, and I can't find a way to boot to a DOS prompt. XP won't let me get to DOS, and my disk drive is broken so I can't use my old 98 boot disk. Anyone have any ideas?

Boot to the XP CD and then after all of the drivers load press 'r' to go to the recovery console.

Just tried that, and it didn't work. Everytime i would use the copy command it would give me an 'access denied' message. Oh well, i guess i'll just forget about it.

Why the hell does MS give us the ability to skin XP, and then force us to download 3rd party software which is a bitch to install to actually turn on the themes?

They want you to use the (nonexistant) extra themes that they supposedly are supplying for free or cost from their website.
