MrDudeMan

wtf is up with hotmail and cookies? i enabled all of the cookies crap in the options and it still says cookies are disabled, but i know they work because i am typing on AT using my subscriber account that is always logged in via cookies...so wtf?

isnt this the most annoying thing ever? EVERYTHING is on allow cookies, lowest security, blah blah blah and when i try to log into hotmail from the browser i get the same friggin cookies disabled crap every time! ARRRGG!!!

i can check it from OE, but what if i go somewhere else and want to use it? i mean i have my own e-mail domain (xxxxx@bandtank.com) so its fine, i can use OE mostly, but wtf? i have the hotmail account because i should be able to use it anywhere, right? well wtf!

wow..i feel a lot better now

so this seems to be a widespread problem i presume? wtf is up with this?

It has to be a goof up or MS just dosen't care, there's simply no reason to drop cookie support for that little MSN Mail add bar at the top. Getting links in an e-mail is a real pain to deal with if the links aren't in their true form (full address listed), and when you want to be removed from a spam server the cookie-less page often 99% of the time will some how hinder you from doing so, usually you just get those "No Page Found" errors. In any case it's not a problem with the software as much as it is a problem with whoever decided to be an ass hat at MS, shoot them an e-mail and see if they say anything. I'm happy with Outlook for now but I'm sure many other people are hating the way links work with MSN web based e-mail, anyone using it has the same problem for sure.

Do you have a firewall which is stripping out third party cookies? I know ZoneAlarm and the like can do this which would exhibit the same sort of behaviour.

no, no software firewalls. those things are crap and so annoying. everything i want to keep to myself i put on a CD or on an external drive that stays off most of the time.

I had the same problem in a friend of mine´s computer, and could not solve it. I tried even reinstalling windows, formating everything, but the problem remains there, i tried Opera 7, IE5, ...IE6... all in low security... no security, Without any proxy, firewall, and it´s sh¡t !!, I´ll try outlook...or maybe The Bat 🙂 , I hate Microsoft...

I heard it is related to the date and time setting. Try the following to see if it works.

Type the current time in the 24-hour format, and then press ENTER. For example, for 2:15 pm, type 14:15:00. Note that you must enter seconds and use the colon as the separator. Type exit,

Ooops! Sound like you already tried this. Other than that I can only think of a firewall.
