My boss today almost sent an email to a customer that ended with " please dont call or email" . . . instead of "please dont hesitate to call or email"
What does that have to do with freudian slips?
I think many people believe that any mistake in which you say what you actually mean (such as antyler's example) is a Freudian slip. Kind of like how people assume schizophrenia means having multiple personalities.
they'd be wrong
A Freudian slip is when the unconscious mind says something instead of what you actually wanted to say and meant. Now, it typically is something you didn't think you meant to say, but somewhere deep, your mind wanted to say it. So your conscious mind, i.e. the mind you have access to for thoughts and whatnot, did NOT mean what ends up being said.
people assume schizo's have multiple personalities? never knew that. I always thought people imagined all schizo's are a freaked individual, oftentimes with a lot of paranoia.
