We've got a nice, large orange tree in the backyard. Also a big avocado tree. Need to clear up some space for a mango tree, maybe a key lime tree too. Fruit from the backyard = yumm.

How'd you get that past the canker police?

Nothing like a dank California orange.

Or dank California bud.

I prefer both in one sitting!

if it's off the tree in your back yard, that's one thing, but the oranges that CA produces pael in comparison to FL and the glorrious blood orange.

though, thee might have blood oranges in SoCal? not sure. They are a semi-rare annual treat, available less than any other type of orange.

Dunno - it was here when we bought our house last year.

My father-in-law's trees were spared too - might have something to do with the two 150lb mastiffs in the yard, the police car, and the various forms of 'trespassers will be shot' signs.

If you want a brand that tastes like it is fresh out of the grove. Buy "Simply Orange". Christ I grabbed some a month ago because it was on sale. I cant get enough of it!

Simply Orange is tasty, but is mostly sourced from Brazil. I buy Florida's Natural because it's 100% U.S. Florida grown oranges. Mmmm.

I don't think I've seen Simply Orange but I go out of my way here to get Florida's Natural. Expensive though but the local "orange juice" isn't really orange juice, it's an orange drink. It contains juice and sugar and other crap.

LOL...sort of like "Fruit Drink" and "Grape Drink".

Flavors and sugar added to water. D:

We've been drinking Natalie's Orchid orange juice. Switched from Simply Orange.

It's expensive as all hell though - $5 for a bottle, and my wife/toddler drink it like it's water.

Exactly. Mr. Juicy is the main culprit but Minute Maid also puts out a similar thing (which is strange because they do make real orange juice, it's the brand they serve at McDonald's here). I guess it probably would have to do with the cost of actually importing enough oranges to make pure orange juice. I think I spend around $6 USD on a carton of Florida's Natural here. Tropicana is available too but is only slightly cheaper. I prefer the sweetness of the pulpy Grovestand.

Simply Orange is simply delicious...I must agree. I easily go through a gallon a week.

This is a must have when we go to the grocery store. I woke up at 3 am one morning with a craving for orange juice.....I think I drank half the bottle. The whole time I was drinking it I was like "WTF is wrong with me waking up in the middle of the night craving OJ?" but damn it is good.

Huh interesting. Simply Orange is owned by Coke as it's a subsidiary of Minute Maid. I wonder how many orange juice companies Coke owns?

I have a lemon tree in my back yard and my neighbor has an orange tree in their front yard and avocado tree in their back yard. Easy access to some of the most essential fruits. Cali is so overrated to everyone because we can grow stuff like that in our yards.

Costco fresh OJ is just as good as Simply Orange Juice and its 100% USA oranges. I go through a gallon a week.
