Hopefully, they based the next TT off Passat/A4 platform. The golf chassis doesn't cut it.

That would make it even more of a pig than it already is. The current generation A4 is a friggen whale as far as weight goes.

While it's a heavier chassis, it's far more modern than the setup that they're using in the current setup. Plus the paves the way for more engine choices (4.2L V8?, or the twin turbo V6)

If you are gonna try to compete with the Boxster/SLK, the last thing you want is a 3,600 lb car plowing through corners. The TT is already a pig.

Also, it will more than likely use the MKV Golf chassis which is quite a modern setup
