Got a 3TB drive on BF that I did a fresh formatting with Windows 7 and the drive has 178MB already used with no files placed on it yet. I know that a 3TB drive isn't a true 3000GB, that's not what I am talking about. This is 178MB of taken space.

I don't have this particular drive being monitored with Windows eitehr.

Is this common with Windows 7 pro to take space like that?

I think that the Recycle Bin and System Restore take a percentage of your HD. So if the drive is bigger, the space taken up by those items is bigger.

That makes sense. I do see those 2 folders in there but figured they shouldn't be taking that much yet since nothing has happened, but that makes good sense.

Thanks!
