Frequent disconnectage, argh!

My 2Mbps ADSL is constantly disconnecting on my @ss, and I'm pretty sick of it. I can't even play games like Warcraft III or Generals, because I disconnect after max 10-15 after entering.

I'm using the D-link 604 or something, but I don't have the option of not using it.

does this happen to all the computers connected to the router or just urs?


Try upgrading the firmware of the router.

We were sent what was called "the latest patch". Still disconnecting.

Can you try it without the router to rule it out as a problem.

I know this might seem kind of obvious, but check again and make sure you have DSL filters on all of your phones in the house. Also, it may be the quality of the line in your house. I know I had a problem with my DSL service a while ago similar to yours--turned out to be the old lines I had in my house were getting wet everytime it rained, and while this somehow did not affect normal voice calls, it did affect the DSL. One call to the phone company and they came out and fixed the problem and things have been fine since.
