its better than eating dogs.

how is it better? Kill teh animal outright with no paine. It is not right to tourture it 🙁

Actually, it's common to beat or burn the dog first to get adrenalin into the meat. That's supposed to be good for 'virility'.

you learn somthing everyday

still sounds like shens.

I for one don't have that much of a problem with it (other than they might be so indiscriminate to use someones pet, that does turn my stomach) actually I would never do anything like that personally, but I also don't see any of you also complaining about the people who use live minnows or worms for bait. (I use both for catfish and crappie fishing)

That's just sick.... They should mandate that shark baiting should be done with those that would use dogs and cats as bait.

Incidentally, stop with the idiotic France bashing, it just makes you look ignorant.

is it any surprise?

its the French!!

these people are responsible for genocides and pure mass murder throughout the world. remember Rwanda? there was a French connection in that

Alegeria anyone?

and these people have the nerve to tell America how bad we are

No different than using any other animal for bait.

In many countries cats & dogs are regarded as food, who are we to say that our culture (in which cats & dogs are pets) is superior?

I'm sure India loves it that we have fast food restaurants on every corner serving beef.

SAVANNAH, Ga. -- A suspected burglar was charged with felony animal cruelty after police found a resident's missing dog burned to death in an oven that had been set to 400 degrees.

The dog's owner, Angela DeLettre, noticed an open back door, items missing and a kitchen sink overflowing with water when she came home Thursday. She found one of her dogs safe, but the other, a 1-year-old rat terrier, was missing.

Police later found the dead dog in the oven.

Police arrested Alexander Davis, 19, based on an anonymous tip. In addition to the cruelty charge, he was charged with burglarizing DeLettre's home and another home in the area. Another person was charged with theft by receiving stolen property.

"This is just sick. This is just very, very strange," said Melanie Higgins, a prosecutor who handles most of the county's animal abuse cases.

No bond was set for Davis and he remained in the Chatham County Jail. A court hearing was scheduled Thursday, and attempts to learn if he had an attorney were not successful.

DeLettre, a high school teacher, said she did not know the suspects or why anyone would want to harm her.

"To rob someone is one thing," she said, "but why hurt such a little animal?"
