French bashing thread

I'm thinking this doesn't add anything to the forums but further messages of hate and ridicule. Please act as you see fit, removing the thread would be a positive start, though I wouldn't be adverse to some 'holidays' for OPs of these types of threads.

I seem to remember reading a thread about changes ... this is a place to apply that.

Patt, you need to settle down. you were the only one in that thread who had a problem with those quotes. It was your response and subsequent responses to other's posts that started that thread on a downward slope. You started the flame war, no one else. so get over it and learn to laugh

No, I can see why he'd be sensitive to it. There is a constant French-bashing in P&N. I think it's a culture shock really; here in Canada people don't bash the French nearly as much as Americans do, dispite our separatist issues.

Boy, am I glad I never set foot in P&N. Makes Video at its worst seem like a carefree playground by comparison (and that's saying something).

I didn't find the original post all that bad (yeah, ha ha, the French surrender a lot! Very original. Find some new jokes already), but some of the posters who responded to Patt stepped WAY over the line.

Although you do have to admit that Conan O'Brien line about Hussein is classic. 😛

It was flamebait. Making fun of people, no matter how true the quotes are, is flamebait. If that's allowed, then every american bashing thread should be allowed to.

Why don't we? What good is it to bash? I could bash half this forum, but I'd go out like MacBaine. Why be lenient in one situation and not in another?

Seriously though, more than half of those quotes are either from: dead people, fictional characters, washed up comedians, sellouts, crooked politicians, or any combiantion of the above. IMHO it is no worse than the stupid trolling that goes on in P&N. Perhaps you should grow some thicker skin and not take the opinions of people posting behind the guise of the internet so seriously...
