Freezing your Food like bread

People freeze stuff such as bread so it will last long.

Blech! I don't like this! Can you tell if it has been frozen?

I want to irradiate stuff but that creates some serious controversy.

sometimes it can get freezer burnt, and then it tastes like poop. but if you don't leave it in that long, then you should be ok.

It depends on the bread... but 99% of the time... if you let it defrost naturally (no microwave)... you cannot tell the difference.

🙂

I never understood this. I know it works great and everyone does it, but I think it's funny to eat bread that I know is months old. Same with meat.

I strongly disagree. My mom used to freeze bread then let it thaw at room temp and I could always taste a difference. It seems more stale.

I usually buy bread that comes frozen so I don't what it would taste like fresh.

Food For Life, Ezekiel 4:9 and Cinnamon Raisin.

Although I've been known to get some Panera Bread, which I couldn't bear to freeze.

YES! Exactly what I am saying! I am NOT insane! Freezing Thomas' English Muffins is not working!

Ok now I need to find a .1 micron vacuum pump, vaseline, and a bell jar.

I guess you got your answer. I always freeze my bread (several different kinds). Keeps you out of the supermarkets if nothing else.
