Freeze up at first windows boot

Holy crap Phil. It booted. I disconnected the CD and one of the harddrives.
EDIT: and the USB mouse.

I can't thank you enough, this ****** has been so frustrating!

Ok, good. So, now you need to try to isolate which device is the culprit.

Doing it as we speak, reconnected the CD.

EDIT: Its the CD.
EDIT2: It could still be the BIOS setting / motherboard's fault, can't it? I mean the CD works good when installing windows.
EDIT3: I guess that could easily be tested by using another CD.

Right, I got everything working and I installed a few games aswell. I tried to plug in the CD again to see if it would freeze up, and to my suprise it didn't even detect the CD anymore. Any ideas?
