My driving pet peeves:

Driving under the speed limit
Driving in two lanes(happens ALL the time in Austin with bigass cars and small lanes, there are also roads who's lanes shift over by 2-3 feet in the middle of an intersection and people can't seem to understand to move over even though it's CLEARLY marked)
Rushing up a turn lane to cut people off waiting to go straight through the light
Not signaling when there's a car waiting to turn from the same place the person not signaling is turning into
Using the freeway entrance/exit lanes as an extra travel lane(similar to rushing up a turn lane to cut people off)

By far the thing that pisses me off the most is getting stuck behind someone who's entering a freeway at well under the speed of the traffic. How the fuck are you supposed to merge into traffic going 70 when you are only going 45? You're going to get killed if you try that.

We have these fun blind on-ramps on certain freeways in Detroit especially on I-94. You get maybe 200-250 feet on the ramp then you are in the right lane of the freeway there is no merge lane area AND no shoulder to speak of...and on top of it you as the person entering the freeway can't see anyone in that right lane until you are on the damn freeway. Nearly caused me to hit people multiple times and vice versa. More of a pet peeve with the retard who designed stupid on-ramp.

Semi-trucks who on a 2x2 divided freeway block both lanes going the same 55mph...you aren't traffic cops.

Yesterday driving to see my fiance, the forecast was for snow, however there was no snow falling, the freeway dry. Yet still people were driving 55-60mph when the speed limit was 70mph. (Not just one or two drivers but multiple multiple people doing this in all lanes)

People who freak out and slam on brakes/swerve/act totally retarded when they see any sort of flashing lights on the side of the road.

Anyone in the left lane driving 15mph under the speed limit.

People who dont speed up when traffic opens up. Traffic begins flowing at 60-65 but here they are still going 45-50 leaving a 1/4 mile gap between.

18 wheelers trying to pass another going the same speed. Takes them 10mins just to pass.

People who go the speed limit in the middle lane. That by itself is perfectly fine.

But then if I try to pass them, and they do that retarded speeding up bullshit to block me, and then I have to hit 85 to pass them. And once I finally do, I swear to god every time I get tailgated allll the way to my exit. There are no words that can describe how big of a fucking asshole you are if you do this.

Oh, and on normal roads: people who cut you off. Today I was the ONLY CAR on the road for miles. Literally the only one. I'm traveling at about 30, in a 35 on icy roads. Some bitch in an Aztek proceeds to make a left in the direction I was going, completely cutting me off on an icy road. This resulted in me having to slam on the brakes, and spinning out 180ish degrees into the middle of the road. I wanted to punch this whore in the ovaries.

When I was in California, it seemed that the ones in the fast lane driving only about 50 MPH while refusing to move to the slower lane were obviously foreigners. You know, the guy with the visor rivetted over the windshield with the la cucaracha horns, dingle balls and the family name in big gothic letters on the rear window?

I drove that section from I-75 to Dearborn and now to Belleville daily for twenty years. I know of which you speak. There was talk of making that stretch a more modern e-way with a service drive, merge lanes, and extra lanes a few years ago, but it would have meant buying a LOT of houses on either side. I don't see it happening.

'Hate' is abused too much. I'll go with 'disgust'.

People too timid to merge from the on-ramp at highway speeds. They make the entire right lane hit the brakes. Thrusting your slow vehicle into the traffic flow is way more dangerous than wedging in at full speed.

..then there's always the BOIP driver. They drive around with one foot on the gas and the other lightly applying the brake resulting in brake lights always on and a Brake On In Propulsion. Huge accident hazard because they will suddenly apply the brakes but because their brk light is always won't know they just applied full braking.

tailgating in general, but especially in the right lanes.

people who will not merge when i'm obviously letting you in.

i generally stick to the right lanes on a multiple lane freeway.

I also hate people who refuse to get over on a 2-lane freeway/highway then when you get over to pass them on the right they speed up 15mph. This happened to me 3 times driving home for the holiday last week. At one point a chick who was driving at 70 exactly in the left lane sped up to over 90mph before I was finally able to get past her, then she proceeded to tailgate me for like 10 miles.

:|:|:|

hate that too. that's why I have 10 lights, that's right..10 lights... bright-ass PIAAs mounted to the roof for off-roading and some on a grille. i welcome those that cut in front of me :)

People who stay in the left lane of a 2 X 2 divided highway.

This past summer I was driving somewhere with two or three cars in my group behind me and I kept getting over in the right lane after making a pass but they all continued to stay in the left lane and when we stopped they asked why I kept getting in the right lane but driving just as fast. Is it not common knowledge that the left lane is used for passing only except when there's enough traffic to make it serve just as a faster lane?

It's common knowledge in a lot of the country, but in California this is neither enforced nor is it customary.

I hate drivers who are oblivious. They exist in their own little bubble and do not pay attention to any other driver on the road. These people don't make allowances for others wishing to change lanes or merge on the road (even when those other drivers signal).

I cannot stand the random stopping for no damn reason at all.

That shit really boils my blood.

It's like everyone is going along nice and happy at 70mph or whatever and then it's slam on your breaks for your dear life!!!

I always hope there's some cause for this crazy behavior but there never is.

This happened to me over the thansgiving holiday drive:

I am in the left most lane going about 75 mph and a douche passes me on my right going about 80, cuts into my lane within 3' of my car and slows down to 70 mph.
