After commuting for a year now, I've come to see that most drivers on the road are terrible at driving. I've compiled a hate list. Feel free to add to it.

I hate it when people in the fast lane (furthest left lane) do not keep up with everyone else in that lane, then fail to move over properly.

I hate it when cars will tailgate for, oh, 5 minutes, and then decided to pass.

I hate it when cars don't merge at or above the speed of cars in the right lane, then expect to get let in.

I hate when someone switches into your lane when there really is no space for another car. This is completely acceptable when you need to make your exit; I do it if I have to. But when they switch into your lane, and then stay there for no reason? Arghh. And when they do this during rush hour? :|

I hate it when people leave their blinker on.

If he didn't hit you there must have been enough room ;)

Old people. Cellphone users. Women. Asians. People who need to stop to watch every accident. People who panic at the first raindrop or first snowflake.

You drive in the middle lane from now on going exactly the speed limit OP. If you deviate, we will SMASH YOU.

At 100 MPH, because God tells us to.

1) I hate it when people merge FOR NO REASON.

Ex: Person is driving 60 - 65 in right lane. I'm in middle lane speeding down at 75 (come on it's not even that fast), and the dumbtard merges into my lane and continues at 60 - 65. Really? Is that necessary? I can understand if you merge near an exit because you don't want to have to brake for oncoming traffic, but why do people merge for no reason. It slows down traffic.

2) People who can't maintain speed. Like what the op said about people in the left not keeping up. I hate it when people can drive 80 on straightaways but right when that shoulder gets narrower or when there's a curve, they let go and drop down to 65. Then I start trying to weave, and as I'm about to pass, the road straightens up and they hit 80 again and I can't weave at those speeds anymore unless I want to start getting a little dangerous/reckless.

Variable speed gets to me. I get pretty annoyed when I'm behind someone who is traveling slower than I am and I go to pass and, suddenly, they speed up. If I get back behind them, they'll slow back down, but to get in front of them I need to drive faster than I would have wanted to.

Always happens when I'm the last in a line of cars exiting the freeway and there is an 1/8 mi. of open space behind me. It's like, wtf, you could've just pulled behind me? You had to squeeze in so you would not be the last car exiting the e-way?

Every time I see your name I think of "Delorian" and Back to the Future.

This past summer I was driving somewhere with two or three cars in my group behind me and I kept getting over in the right lane after making a pass but they all continued to stay in the left lane and when we stopped they asked why I kept getting in the right lane but driving just as fast. Is it not common knowledge that the left lane is used for passing only except when there's enough traffic to make it serve just as a faster lane?

This is in general. When I'm the only fucking car coming down the road and some slowass retard turns into my lane. Couldnt fucking wait 2 seconds to let me pass before turning in. Same shit on the highway. Retard going slow on the right and suddenly decides to go into my lane when I'm coming along much faster than him. Cant fucking wait 2 seconds to let me pass so I'm not forced to slam on my brakes.

I also hate people who refuse to get over on a 2-lane freeway/highway then when you get over to pass them on the right they speed up 15mph. This happened to me 3 times driving home for the holiday last week. At one point a chick who was driving at 70 exactly in the left lane sped up to over 90mph before I was finally able to get past her, then she proceeded to tailgate me for like 10 miles.

People just don't look at what's behind them. They seem to think it doesn't matter.

My biggest irritation is people who completely ignore speed limits. I don't care if you speed. But at least make some effort to follow the idea of the speed limits.

For example, I commonly drive in areas where the speed limit may go from 65 MPH to 55 MPH. I'll typically go 69 and 59 respectively. But then there are those speed limit ignoring people. They drive 60 MPH in both cases. So, at first, I come up fast and pass the person going 5 under. Then I slow down with the speed limit change and they think they need to pass me now since they are going 1 MPH faster than me. It happens to me over and over again in multiple locations.

Speed or drive under. I don't care. But at least slow down a bit when the speed limit drops and speed up a bit when the speed limit increases.

Around here, 4 over means no cop will ever pull you over. 5 over and they will pounce on you in an instant. I believe that we have more traffic cops per capita than just about any other city.

I hate everybody who is not at the rightmost lane that doesn't pass the cars to the right of them.
If you are in the middle lane, you had better be passing the right lane cars. If you are in the Left lane, you had better be passing the middle lane cars ...

Also, always stay to the right. I don't care if you are going 100 or 110 or what, don't hog the left. Only stay in the left when you are passing. If I want to go 150mph, you shouldn't sit there blocking the left lane playing traffic cop. Now, My car doesn't go 150, and even if it did, I would probably choose to travel at a slightly slower speed due to my dislike for speeding tickets and death by sliding off of the road and crashing into a stationary object.

Of course heavy traffic (when it becomes a stop and go clusterfuck gridlock) negates that.

I also hate when 2 lanes merge, so people change lanes like 10 miles in advance, so that there's like 95% of the people in one lane, and then people zipping past everybody in the lane that's about to be merged ...

Lincoln, Nebraska. I've had friends pulled over going 50 MPH while on an onramp to a freeway (speed limit 60 MPH). Why? The on ramp had a 45 MPH sign. So you are supposed to merge at 45 MPH with traffic going 60 MPH+. That would be very unsafe.

There isn't a time that I drive from my girlfriends house to mine (max 20 minute trip) where I don't see multiple cars pulled over.
