freeware/cheapware for capturing what's on your monitor

I'm looking to capture some screen activity for a product promotion - i've developed a piece of software for which I want to create a video.

I have CamStudio loaded on my machine, but I notice that the file size it outputs is a bit large - 62mb for 2 minutes of video.

Is there anything else you'd recommend?

The ability to add subtitles explaining the process would be great, but not necessary.

There is an optional Camstudio Codec that makes the file size of the screen captures much smaller.

I used FRAPS a couple of years back playing WoW. The free version allowed for screen shots and i believe 30 sec of video. Paid version was only $30 IIRC.

MSI afterburner now has a video capture feature, with several video formats to choose from so you can get a smaller file(with less quality) if needed. And it does work on all cards, not just MSI's.
