how exactly do i set this up? I have enabled printer sharing on the box, and it's set for port 515, named as lp1... how would i go about setting up windows (in this case, 2k) to access it? is there anyway to check on the box if its working?

To access it in Windows 2000, go to add printer. Select local printer and uncheck "Automatically detect...". Then, select create a new port and select "Standard TCP/IP Port." This will open up a new wizard. Type in the ip address of the Freesco machine when you're prompted. I think it will say that the device could not be identified (it did on mine). Select custom and click settings. Select LPR and type lp1 as the queue name. Then, finish the wizard and pick the kind of printer you have. It should now work.

Does freesco have that capability? It's a very small and specialized version of linux so I doubt it, but...I don't know for sure.

supposedly it does.. asks for it. Set to port 515, named lp1. when it did asked, i picked thte option "s" for secure... or something like that.. so it would only be on my network (or am i wrong in thinking that?).
