Freecell Probability

How many freecell games have you won before?
And do you think that every game is winnable?
I think that they are.

I've won 1500 games in a row (over a two year period). It sucked, and I don't think that I'll ever play the game again, but it was an accomplishment and what I believe to be a "fair" sampling of all the possibilities of the freecell games there are. One game took me 3 weeks to beat, as I never gave up a game, I'd replay it until I beat it.

It is well known that there is a single game, #11982, that cannot be won out of the 30,000 games in Microsoft Free Cell. This was suspected to be unwinable from players experience but proven by exhaustive computer search of the game tree.

Use this for the "unwinnable" games so you don't have to break your streak. Even better, use it on a coworker sometime when he leaves his desk.

With Microsoft's version of Freecall on Windows 98 every game is not winnable because of that stupid automatic move feature. I have had it move cards up to the ace pile that I need to make other moves thereby screwing my strategy.
