Ok, I've got samba running on a freebsd box 4.X. Somehow the root directory has filled itself and i need to drop a couple of megs. I cleared out the /var/log directory and all the mail in / what else can i delete? It seems that while / is full, a semaphore timeout occurs and my fileserver will not allow connections. Can someone shed some light on the proper way of restoring this machine?

In my opinion the best option would be to partition better. / should never fill up. /var is a great directory to have partitions away from the others incase it fills up.
