Free Xvid to MPEG-4 converters?

I have some Xvid movies that were encoded in Windows via AutoGK that I want to convert to MP4 format so I can play them in iTunes and sync with my iPod. Right now I have Perian and things play fine in QT, but it'd be nice to have them in iTuens as MP4's as well so I can use AirTunes.

Does anyone know a way? I could recode them in SUPER (Windows only) but that program is really annoying sometimes and I'd have to boot into Windows to do it.

Another thing you can do with them is to save them as Reference Movies in Quicktime, set those in your Movies folder, as well as import them into iTunes. Now they are accessible by Front Row and iTunes, but not the iPod. The advantage of that for me at least is that I only have 100GB on my laptop, whereas my video collection spans (as of now) something like 60 DVDs, 126 Movies on my hard drive, 3 BluRay movies, and way, way too many TV show episodes to count. 330GB all said and told.

Oh wow! I didn't know you could do that. Great tip.

Does this allow you to stream that content to say an AppleTV, or is it just kind of a way to just integrate those videos into iTunes?

I am fairly certain that you could stream them to an AppleTv, in fact I think that is how a lot of people do it... but don't quote me on that.
