Free Windows XP SP2 CD Pro/Home available now...

Is Microsoft ever going to release a Windows XP SP2? With Service pack 2 intergrated or will we have to slipstream it. 🙁
 
Got mine in the mail yesterday! So I think this is a repost...cause I saw someone else mention this and I ordered that day..must've been 3 weeks ago..
 
I saw free SP2 CDs at Staples the other day so I'm guessing instead of waiting a month+, you can just come in and pickup the free CD.

This is different from the earlier offer posted for a pre-release version. Microsoft took the ordering site down for a long time, until now.
 
That's the method i've been using to upgrade a couple of computers to sp2.

not at retail they aren't, but OEM's will. There was talk about microsoft releasing Windows XP Second Edition which would include all the updates, but they have said there won't be such a thing.

The advantage of having the network version is you can use it to slipstream SP2 with your windows install disk to create a combined Windows XP/SP2 install disk for future installations. People who ordered their disks when they were first available are receiving them now. Mine came in the mail yesterday.

Does anyone have a direct link to a complete download on the MS site? (I am too lazy to look for it 🙂 ).
