I tried the drivers from dell and recieved "This driver be installed from Vista" when I was trying to install it from vista..so I went into win32 and ran Inst32.exe whcih started installing the driver but when it got to the flash step I received a BSOD of usbport.sys and now the driver won't install so I think my 355 is dead. Crap. Im switching back to XP.

Just out of curiousity, has anyone who has ordered alternative media (i.e., 64-bit Vista) received it yet?

you actually dont need to update anything.

that microsoft BT emulator does it all.

i was in the same boat as you were with my dell bt driver, i was going insane.

just one day suddenly it work *shrug*.

mouse works (had to go to logitech and download new drivers from them) and my phone can see my laptop

Maybe none at all ('because you'll get nothing), if you don't hurry up -- the
W9 web site said to do the W9 *BY* 1 February.

Though I think the powertogether promotion's original site said the ending date for
the whole thing was 28 February, so I suppose you might be able to still get it in if
you hurry.

Anyway Office + Vista will likely be treated as an extra $798 on your taxable income,
so that'd translate into around $180-$220 or so taxes for many people depending on their
tax bracket etc.

I ordered a few days ago, didn't get a confirmation email at all (though that may be
because of troubles with my mail in general in that time), and as of yesterday
they still hadn't charged my credit card yet.

So they seem to be either going very slowly or maybe they messed up my particular
order :-/

What kind of "package" did you guys receive in the mail? Just curious because my former landlord said I received a 10x14" manilla envelop from MicroSoft... Hoping it is the PowerTogether thing and not some kinda Cease and Desist letter hehehe..

Quite a few of the Office2007's are showing up on Ebay. Considering that the retail value is well over $400 its surprising that they're only going for about $250 or so. I find that on this kind of stuff ebayers typically overpay.

Dunno why e-bay lets these through, Vista is NFR, and Office is just a key.

Got both today in the mail. I never received my Office email saying that I was qualified. I held off on faxing the w-9 until late because I hadn't seen Vista yet and all of my friends had rfeceived their copies. Good thing I faxed in the w-9 before the deadline because now I have both.

Thanks OP.

Keep in mind, with the Business addition of Vista, the games don't install automatically. To install them, go to Control Panel, Programs and Features, turn Windows features on or off.

Here is one thing that is driving me nuts. The business version doesn't have native support of DVD file playback. My older version of WinDVD barely works, but at least I can then play DVD files via Windows Media Player. The only problem is rampant "rundll32" error messages.

I really wish this was the home premium version. The backup options are OK in the business version, but the "full computer backup" is useless to me as I store lots of big video files on my hard drives and there is no way I can back up my entire system, even if I wanted to. I much prefer using Ghost to make a perfect image of my main boot partition, which doesn't contain the bulky files.

Windows can't incorporate DVD software in their OS because of monopoly lawsuits against them. And then people complain Windows doesn't include as many 'apps' as Apple. Ah well.

Nonsense. They CAN, but they won't, since they don't want to pay for the license.
This isn't the EU. :)

Oh, and the other reason is they need a way for people to buy the premium or ultimate versions...

Well I can understand that, they are barely scraping by hardly making any money on this software.

I thought Media Center had native playback of DVD. At least that is what I read at their website. In my opinion, if this is true, this is a big plus that Home Premium has over Business.

Still never received my copy of Vista. Does anyone have a POC we can contact to find out the status?
