dotnetcentral is offering 12 months free hosting.

Sign up was quick.

12 months free, seems to be pretty hot to me.

You will need a domain name. I registered at Registerfly. They are a little bit more than Godaddy but registerfly offers whois privacy for .99/domain (which I think is relatively HOT), whereas the same service is 9.95 at godaddy.

5MB disk space?

20MB or 50MB would have been better.

At least it's free.

It appears as though nothing but a blank screen is appearing when I go to that site.... could it be dead?

Ouch, Windows hosting, sounds like asking for trouble.

Stick with Linux and kiss goodbye to the viruses, trojans, spyware, compromises......

Give me a break....

I've been running my own 2000/2003 web hosting servers for over 4 years, and have never had 1 problem just by keeping them behind a firewall and installing the critical updates.

Still can't access that site...

really? when did aol stop asking for cc? i thought that was the basis on if u could get that free trial or not. if u've used the cc before, u were not eligible for another free trial.

but then again 1and1.com didnt ask me for a cc when i signed up for their 3yr freebie.

i've personally used both linux and windows 2k server for my host and i've gotta say for php users and perl and mysql and all the other open source services, linux is the way to go. much more compatibility and free. if you use asp, or .net or any other microsoft based products, then a windows server is much more useful in your case.

direct linky to 1 yr free:

when it says 1 free domain? does that mean they'll pay for the domain fees? or do i have to?
