FREE Visual Basic .NET SE & ASP.NET Development Book

Are the webcasts free? Also, do you know what series of books they are sending out? Thanks in advance. 🙂

I got mine when the VB@the Movies was going on too. If you didn't get that by now, I would not be expecting it.

I am contemplating on whether or not I want to get another copy of VB.NET 🙂

If memory serves, the promised software was Visual Basic, and not Visual Studio. Received a copy over the summer, within the time frame the email stated.

nice. most universities distribute this program and a bunch of other MS programs through the MSDN program for free.

true, I got vs.net 2003 for 50 bucks, but they don't give similar deals on books!! nice find, thanks op

Damn, all of the webcasts I want are not available... anyone know if this is a recurring thing? Also, it mentioned something about on-demand webcasts, but I don't see any listed. Am I missing something?

If the book is the same as VB@the Movies deal sent out, it is; "Getting Started with Microsoft Visual Basic .Net Version 2003" Adapted from "Microsoft Visual Basic .Net Step By Step" by Michael Halvorson. 121 pages, not including Index.

Okay, if you want to take any of the webcasts that are listed on the page in the original post that are listed as not being available, you can register for them or any number of other ones here.

I have no idea whether these will qualify for the same free software/book promotion, but there are other courses here that cover a lot more than just ASP.NET that look worthwhile. It's great that they are making so much free information available. It's very helpful for guys like me that are experienced developers making a transition from another programming language.

I got the software and books from the Movie deal and WebCast deal. They were both delivered also 🙂

I'm thinking about doing a contest or something on my website to give one of the copys away 🙂
