Free Vista Ultimate

In this age of criminal ingenuity - you don't know who or what to trust.

Received an e-mail says from Microsoft offering me a free copy of Vista ultimate for filling out a survey, and allowing microsoft to gather info from my PC for a year. They'll have my "permission" to monitor the operation of Vista Ultimate- How I use it and how it acommodates my usage.

It sounds good but has anyone else received such an offer from Microsoft? I haven't clicked on the URL embedded in the e-mail and won't until I see some verification that the message is legit.😉

I could go right to Microsoft but this way is quicker.

How would they have gotten your email? Have you gotten mail from MS in the past? The only way you'll know for sure is to go to MSs site directly and check there. It sounds like bs to me though.

Or you could look at the raw email and see if the message really came from a MS owned domain and where the URL really goes when you click on it.

OK - so how did this perp know I had ever talked to windows feedback? I did when I was using a beta copy of vista a while back. Is someone peeping my computer?😕

Or he could just send the email out to thousands of people hoping to strike someone it applies to?

The same way Bank of America knows I have an account with them that needs the password changed.

Oh wait, no, I don't have an account with Bank of America.
