Free UT2004 demo disk @ BestBuy

Just went to my local BestBuy and they have UT2004 demo disk at their game section. If you don't have high speed internet connection or too lazy to download it go and grab one.

earlier they said free if you buy a game over $15 or $20, I think, and the price on the rack was $4.99 for the UT2004 disk even though envelope says "not for resale". Seems pretty cheap of bb if they try to sell it. YMMV

One of the best buys in the area was trying to sell the disk (Clearly labeled as Free demo disk, not for resale) for $19.99 .

W R O N G. It won't be *as* fun, but the bots in UT2004 are amazing, and what about those who want to LAN UT2004, but are too rural to have broadband?

Just picked one up at a local BB. Had to push the issue of "Not for Sale," but the guy did give it to me at no charge. There was no shelf tag explaining any deal.

FWIW, I did D/L the demo, but got a CRC error when I tried to install.

The game is pretty amazing. I may have to start playing online.

It does have LAN option in demo. Which might come in handy if you have friends want to have some LAN action... Also like nero 2 said, the bots in it is really good too.

Not everyone has fast internet connection. Either price or availability reasons, those still uses 56k can still play. It might not be as fun as people with fast internet connections but doesn't mean it won't be fun for them.

it'll play it just not at top settings. I play at work on a gf4 mx400 800x600 with mid range settings which I beleave is about the same speed as your card. granted my work computer has a dual Xeon 3ghzs 😀 OVERKILL but I can't beleave that helps much considering the card is I'm sure maxed out with even a 1ghz proc

terrible I asked for it for free because well that's what it says on the thing and the manager promptly pulled them all off the shelf. I too downloaded it and got and error after trying to install. Well gotta download it again. Does the nvidia site download any faster because I'm getting only 50k per sec and this is going to take awhile
