Question Free? 'Upgrade' From Win10 to 11

Is this possible because the researches I've done suggest it is?

Reason I ask is purely financial: you can get hold of relatively cheap genuine, factory sealed Win10 Pro installation disc for less than the cost of a Win11 Pro one.

Surely there must be some catch.

You can install Windows 10 with a valid Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or 10 key. Then upgrade to Windows 11 for free. No need to buy anything.

Some say you can activate 11 with 7, 8, and 10 keys during a clean installation, no upgrade needed.

When I read about it the whole thing just seemed to good to be true. I've seen authentic Win10 64bit Pro installation discs selling for under £50/$65 whereas Win11 64 bit Pro ones cost twice that.

So you can install Win10 then immediately upgrade to Win11 and all will be OK, no additional costs or any other negatives, yes?

Yes, and like WIlliam said you should also just be able to download the W11 .iso and install it straight using the W10 license key.

I'm using a refurbed older computer that came with win 10. It runs very well. It doesn't meet all the win 11 requirements though.

I guess there is probably no work around to get a free upgrade to win 11, right?

I've seen some of the workarounds to install 11 on machines that don't meet MS requirements, but that would require a new win 11 license (I think).

The only trick with the Windows 11 upgrade, is that your hardware must meet the windows 11 requirements. There are workarounds if your hardware doesn't pass, but I don't know how long they will work.
