I have Windows 98. I recently deleted a bunch of stuff and for some reason my free space shrunk! When I click on My Computer and highlight the C:, it says I have something like 300mb free out of 10 gb. However, If I double-click on C: and highlight everything and select properties, it only says it's like 6 gb. I should have about 4 gb free, not 300mb. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do? :frown:

I have no idea what the cause is, but a Standard scandisk *might* help.

It has worked in the past for me, for some reason after installing Half-Life scandisk would always report my amount of free space was incorrect.

Give it a shot.

<< did you ever empty your recycle bin ? >>

LOL, yes :D

I recently formatted, too. Maybe 2 weeks ago.. I'll try a defrag/scan disk like Balt suggested...
