I think there have been people commenting in previous posts about the rebate being a Soyo rebate not a Newegg rebate and that they take forever to get fulfilled. 12-14 weeks +

Here is their response;

Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for your patience and understanding; our Product Support has informed
us that you will need to send the original UPC along with a COPY of the UPC and
the invoice, with both forms filled out. Also be aware that they must be sent in
the same envelope, and BOTH offer numbers must be clearly written on the
envelope as well.

Thank You,

I saw a post with a similar reply on another forum from Soyo to the same question however, Soyo never responded to an email that I sent to them.

Still waiting on my Soyo rebate on a board i got at mwave, been about 4 1/2 months now, no one else who who filed this rebate has recieved it yet either. Soyo might have done a lot of rebate sales to do some "creative" accounting to pad their books for their sale to PChips. If PChips honors them (as they should) they probably have a lot of catching up to do. So any new Soyo rebates i would stay away from. Just my $.02.

Someone in another thread said (this is the 4th thread on the "deal", you know OP), that Soyo uses these rebate deals as a way of unloading defective boards. They sell it as free after rebate, you get POS board and they assume that most customers are unlikely to complain as they assume they'll get the full value back in the rebate and just throw the POS board away instead of following through on their F***** up RMA process. Did you know, they charge a $5 handling fee on top of you having to pay the shipping back to them to RMA a board under warranty?!. I've tried three of their boards, all had problems with the third one DOA. Never again.

4 SOYO "free AMIR" deals, 0 dead boards:

K7VME x 2
P4VGM x 2

All four tested extensively using integrated devices and AGP card with all DIMM slots populated. Now if I could get my rebate checks....

I've had this board for months now, in my main PC (which I use for work, and for personal use, about 12-16 hours a day sometimes) and my system is much more stable than with ASUS and MSI motherboards. Take that with a grain of salt, but my personal experience with this board is extremely positive.

Dear tcsenter

Congrats on your good luck. Mine has been:

P4VTP number 1. bad cpu fan connector

P4VTP number 2. bad memory controller (was stable only with one stick of ram installed)

K7VME DOA (though the chassis fan connector works, nothing else does, not even CPU fan connector)

All three had rebates. First two from newegg, third one from mwave. Replaced the P4VTP with an intel board, not a single crash since late May. Replaced the K7VME with an ECS K7VTA3, runs fine.

I ordered mine last night. I usually do ok with rebates and have rarely been burned due I suppose to my nagg abilities.
Lets say it is a bad board right out of the box. Can't it be returned to NE right away? I do think we have 30 days to return it.

BTW, which CPUs are we limited to with this board? I got it to build a entry-level system for my brother who's Soyo Dragon +, KT266A, 1700+, PC2100 has run out of steam.

I got my board. I believe Newegg is unloading a bunch of POS boards. I got a 2.4E (533fsb Prescott) to go with this board. I have tried everything and XP REFUSES to load or run with a prescott installed. XP will work with a Northwood core (2.8c) just fine and my prescott works fine in XP on otherboards. I have tried the latest bios and anything you can think of. Its funny that the SY-P4I865PE and the Prescott will work just fine with Windows 98 SE. Its a bunch of crap if you ask me

Well, I have successfully loaded Windows 2000 on this board with a Prescott 533FSB CPU. Looks like this board has HYPERTHREADING issues with certian CPU's.. Way to go SOYO.

I bought my soyo board for 3 weeks from now & I am still waiting for the return rebate. I do not how long is going to take.
I bought a Kingston memory from Tigerdirect for more then 6 week now, & I still haven't received the rebate yet.
Does anyone know how's the rebate program procedure?

Thought I saw 4-6 months for Soyo rebates... Hope someone can actually chime in with experience.
