So purchase an Iced Tea or something other than soda. The sandwich is damn good.

😕

Any McDonald I have been to Iced Tea cost the same as Soda.

no, i think the iced tea is a buck.

Not at any of the McDonalds here. It is the same price as the soda as every McDonalds I have been to in California.

All the McDonalds in my area (San Jose, Ca area) a 32 oz. Iced Tea is $1.

I have been to McDonalds in the San Jose area I know the Ice Tea costed just as much as the Soda, but this was years ago.

Correction, it's the Sweet (Iced) Tea that is $1 for 32 oz. This item is relatively new.

Oh, I never had the sweet tea before. I always get the Nestle Unsweet Tea.

I ended up going to McDonalds the other day got a southern-style chicken sandwich, fries, and a sweet tea for 2.17. Not a bad deal at all. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, but not nearly as good as Chick-Fil-A. The sweet tea was good as well, but not as good as mine 🙂 .

I've been eating too much fast food recently, but I may print out that coupon and see if I can get another free one.

I read this thread lastnight and asked my wife to stop at the local McDonalds on her way home to pick one up for me.
She asked for the special deal on the sandwich and the worker said she'd never heard of the deal!?! (no free chicken for me)

I got it anyway and like some of you in the thread are saying, 2 pickles and no sauce? It was bland.......... Extra Extra Bland because it was'nt free dammit!

Suppose the deal is only in certain areas.

Chick fil a chickens are marinated in pickle juice, I wonder if McD are done the same way and thats whats causing the pickle taste.

WTF? I don't taste it when I order w/o pickles from here.

Odd.. 😕

Chic-fil-A doesn't marinate their chicken at all. They dip the chicken in a milk/egg batter, and then coat with flour blended with seasonings. Fried in a pressure cooker at 450F for something like 6 minutes.

wrong. Chick Fil A's "secret" is that they marinate the chicken in a pickle brine.

If this is true, they must do this at a centralized location before the chicken gets distributed to the restaurants... no marinating occurred at the store when I worked at one back in HS.

I wish McD's here in Nebraska had sweet tea 🙁 Must be a southern thing. Kind of like moon pie and RC cola.

I was wondering, but didn't bother to ask because I can just make it myself if I want it 😛
And we DO have moon pies and RC Cola.
