Free Sound recording programs?

Are there any freeware sound recording programs available so I can transfer music from a tape into MP3. I know about the sound recorder in windows, but are they any more advanced programs available for free ( or without a 1 minute limitation)

GoldWave, but it's shareware. Great program.
Do you own Nero? It has a nice recorder.

Audiograbber Vers 1.83 get it http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net/
Free Mp3 encoder and will record nicely with no time limits.
To record its FILE>Line In Sampling.
