svc jipped me on shipping for the first time... they charged $6 but it was only $3.85 :(

Sorry to hear that. I'll make sure it won't happen again.

While we're talking about it, I just placed an order w/ them, where they charged me $4.70 for shipping (when the shipping was really $3.95). To add insult to injury, the post office wouldn't deliver the package because they only put $3.85 worth of postage, forcing me to drive to the post office to pay postage-due of TEN CENTS to get the package. Nice job, guys...

It's amazing... it's these little things that make (or don't) me buy something at an outfit.
Reason why I buy almost all my stuff at newegg is that point. Always got it right, fast and accurate. On the few shipping problems I had with them I got help and replacement. 5-7$ is worth that kind of service!

The problem, though, is that you only usually get people posting bad experiences, not the good ones. I've never had a problem with SVC, and I think they're doing a pretty darn good job. And Zclyh3, we appreciate all the effort you've been putting in. :)

It was said my 100ft ethernet cable will be delivered on Oct.24. By that time I may post the quality of it here.

I ordered some dual device, 18" IDE cables from SVCompucycle a few months ago. They were advertised as "shielded", but were not. SVCompucycle also claim they sell only the highest quality cables. These cables also came with pull tabs, which SVCompucycle now claims:

"Contrary to popular belief, only low quality cables with connectors that are prone to fall apart come with pull-tabs. Pull-tabs increase the restriction to airflow and take up extra space."

I emailed consumer affairs at SVCompucycle about the cables I received. Here is the reply:

"None of the cables we currently carry are shielded. Your order is from over four months ago. Let me assure you that the cables you have received are of superior quality. If you find them unsatisfactory I may be able to offer you a refund, minus shipping charges, for the unopened unused products. Please notify me if this is feasible. "

Since the cables were opened, I know I am out of luck. I ended up replacing these with some old ribbon cables.

Beware SVCompucycle.

Just noticed they are selling DDR 512MB PC3200 400MHz Major Samsung for $145. I think this is lower than the most recent Anand guide price for memory this size and speed.

well i got my rounded cables today from SVC, two 18" blue ide and one 18" floppy. they sent me the wrong item for the 18" floppy cable. they sent me a 10" instead, i e-mailed them and hopefully they will resolve it quickly and they better not charge me a restocking fee. do u guys think i will have to pay for the shipping? that would suck if i had to because it is their fault and not mine.

I just recieved a 10" Silver Floppy cable that I ordered from SVC and it's not Vantec. :( It's made by Galaxy, not as thick and doesn't look constructed as well as my other Vantec cables. :(

I'm not saying their service is bad, I was just under the impression that they were selling Vantec rounded cables. I've ordered from them many times in the past and haven't been dissappointed once.

Another satisfied user of SVC. I have bought *MANY* items from them in the past few months, and my orders always shipped the same day (except in one case, when it shipped the next day).

No problems with any items ordered either.

SVC has always done well for me, but i stopped buying cables from them as they are low quality and can't take much modding or abuse. However, they are my main source for fans, heatsinks, and CC's.

Never heard of them, but just ordered what a need, a 49-cent cpu fan adaptor, plus .99 shipping. I can't find it locally, and since I don't need anything else right now, for sure I wouldn't pay $6 shipping for that little thing. I added the the round cables, but removed at the last minute. Old comp doesn't need new cables.
