Just a friendly heads up!

If you're not interested in the multiplayer aspect of SC2, the campaign is able to be played for free!

Acquire a trial code from a generous SC2 owner.
Play your 7 hours of game time.
Once your time is up, boot up SC2 and go to "play as guest"
Play AI matches and the campaign to your hearts content.
(no achievements)

Oh, and Awesome forum you guys got here!
Roms

EDIT: I know for a fact this works, unless it gets patched or something.

Locked pending investigation. Feel free to post in the main SC2 thread in the interim.

It works, indeed, I've just tried it, nice to know, thanks for the heads up. There's one thing however, the campaign needs to be completely restarted as a Guest, since the achievements and whatever has been done in the single-player is still linked to the Battle.net account. I for one will resume my campaign once I buy the game (probably next week), but I think that playing some skirmishes against the A.I. is certainly better than nothing.

exactly.

But also good to note, you can still save when you're playing as a "guest". And load teh campaign from there.

Enjoy!

Actually, you can use your bnet profile's saves on the guest account.

In C:\Users\Username\Documents\Starcraft II\Accounts there's two folders, the one named "0" is the guess account, and the one with a random string of numbers is your bnet account.

Inside inside both folders should be a second random string named folder, should be something like 1-S2-0-1.

Inside the random string folder inside the Bnet account folder is your save games, 4 files you need.

Both the two XML files AND the Banks and Saves folders. Copy those to the random string folder inside the "0" folder and you get your saves on the guest account!

Edit2: You have to have logged in as guest and started a new game once already to have it create the random-string folder in the "0" folder.

Sounds complicated, I'll upload a pic in a couple minutes.

Edit: Pic!
