Free Rita's Water Ice today (first day of spring). Dont know if it's just Philly, but I heard it on the radio today.

No, it is something you buy at Best Buy B&M. Be careful, though. The checkout price will be twice what the shelf price it.

BadBuy and BadBuy.com, we luv y0u! ~!!!!

;->

Wish they would put it off for a day, its freezing, raining, and just plain miserable for the first day of spring here, and I would love a free Rita's. Don't need cooling off OR thirst quenching here!

The Rita's just outside Pittsburgh here are giving away free medium ices of any flavor! It is a shame that it's cloudy and about 45 degrees here....

<< WTF is water ice? Isn't all ice made of water? >>

well, this is so it doesn't get confused with Rita's Dry Ice ( although I never had one of those) 😉

and yeah, I agree, it does sound stupid IMO. Like, for breakfast, I certainly don't make 'bread toast', do I? No, I just make toast!
😀

p.s. btw, this is a cooool deal (or maybe it's sooo hot that it just feels cold, you know what I mean? )

werk - if you don't know what a water ice is, then surely you don't know what a hoagie is! 😉

Not sure if you have them in supermarkets ice cream section, but these are similar to Italian Ices you may find there. Originally were lemon ices and cherry ices, but have evolved over the years to all kinds of flavors. My personal favorite is chocolate.

Hoagie lessons upon request....

<< then surely you don't know what a hoagie is >>

Yeah, I know what a hoagie is...it's a yankee ripoff of a poboy. 😛
>>

dang sutherners are still POed about losing the war... 😉

<< Yeah, I know what a hoagie is...it's a yankee ripoff of a poboy. >>

It's a ripoff of a what?!?!? How about Pierogies do you know what they are?

Damn, I forgot all about this. I got my freebie last year (two, actually) and I remember it fondly because the weather was great. The weather here today was horrible. It was worth missing the free water ice just to not have to go outside.

Yeah, it's a yankee ripoff of a dumpling.

LOL!

*high fives fletch*

It's all in good fun. 😀

Oh, BTW, my favorite snowball is chocolate with condensed milk, my favorite poboy is 1/2 shrimp 1/2 oyster, and I looooove chicken and dumplings. 😛

Funk water ice... spend a couple bucks and get a gelati. On the other topic -- calling a pierogi a Yankee dumpling is like calling air a solid.

Rita's is most excellent, I am just sad that I am in school in Virginia and can not partake of this most awesome feast of flavored goodness 🙂 Well, I can't believe, when talking about all things Philly, the most wonderful cheesesteak has yet to be mentioned. Man, my mouth waters at the thought of A nice foot long cheesesteak and the dessert of a nice cold rita's water ice.... mmmm, waterice
