Free Ram Programs?

Do these programs actualy help your computer a lot? If so, which is a good one to get?

Sounds like gimmicky windows 95 crap. Don't worry so much about your computer, it can take care of itself.

there are some that will try to cleanup you fragmented memory. They load down your CPU.

You are better off investing the money into more memory.

Does your computer ever slow down due to swapping? If so, then you need more memory. If not, then you don't.

And their only real solution is to try to allocate a huge amount of memory, mlock() it in there and let the OS fight to deal with it hoping the end result will be a big chunk of contiguous memory? And what does contiguous free memory get you? Not a whole lot.

I just got the channel for the first time. Got DirectTV yesterday.

TechTV is actually pretty good overall, I don't watch it regularly as I have no TV but I see reruns on the weekends at a friend's house and while I'm not particularly interested in the shows like Robot Wars or Spy School they're still better than what's on most other channels and a lot more informative.

Funny thing, a few years ago the best program my friends and I used to help get rid of our leaked memory and free up everything was Tribes 2. We'd launch the game and then close it, and presto! Free memory! You wouldn't believe the uptime we were able to obtain on win9x systems...

on win9x i used RAMpage .. it's a great little awesome freeware.
