Stick to discussing the deal. Do not post needless rude or trivial comments about someone else's posts. Flaming can only hurt someone's feelings. Nuisance posts, such as "In before the lock," "IBTL" or other needless bumps just recycle bad threads and force good ones off the first page of the forum.

That's a terrible idea. People come here for tech support.

n b4 LOCK :)

maybe it's time for a sticky or a rules update specifically for this type of scheme.

the sad thing is that he probably got at least his 5 referrals for posting it here... whether or not that will get him a psp is anybody's guess.

I know I've had a hard time trying to PM the mods. I had emailed them a couple of times, but got back a response to PM them in the future as they don't check email as often as PM. If you type "mod" in the PM search function it doesn't show it - at least it didn't for me.

Link to PM Mods - I've already done it for this one though

Then make it forum specific.... No Hot Deals/ For Sale posts before x posts.

Just my $.02.

I don't agree with this statement.

Basic forum sense (reading the rules before you post) is what should allow you to post when joining a forum.

As someone esle stated, a lot of folks come here to get advice and help (yes, this means me ;) ). Otherwise, people would post pad mindless drivel just to get their post count up.

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt any sticky or rules update would fix this problem.

Maybe not let users with <30 posts make threads in the hot deals forums? Course that might lead to 30 posts in another forum that are garbage.
