Hello all,

This is only for you guys here in DC.

Somehow I have ended up with the following:

-Amd Athlon 1700+ XP. It's 1.4 ghz stock but can hit 2.3 ghz on air (with a delta/tornado. ouch) with not too large a bump in voltage. This was on a Abit Nf7-S. On an Asus board your mileage may vary. I'd say 1.8-1.9 ghz conservatively. It's been a workhorse for 2-3 years now but it needs to go. I have no more use for it.

-Amd Barton 2500+. Hit's 3200+ speeds at stock voltage. Once again your mileage may vary.

Both of these chips ran DC 24/7 for 1.5 years+

First two people that could give these guys a home gets them. You pay shipping. $8 USPS express.

I've had these two lying around for about 2 months without a home as their mobo's went to other people's systems. Take them off my hands!

I'd love to take the 2500+ but all it would do is replace a 2200+ that I'd have to get rid of :p.

Alright, My Insomnia dragged me back.

We have by virtue of pm:

-Pabster
-Compudog
-Badthad
-and Wolfsraider floating somewhere between #1-3 due to lack of pm :)

I cleaned up my pc junk (quite a LOT) and I found a AMD 2400+. I believe this to be the 333mhz variant? i.e. the Athlon XP 2400+ (so not like it really matters b/c the multiplier is not locked so increase the fsb/decrase the multiplier until you find a good middle ground) This hasn't been used in about 10 months. ***SHOULD WORK*** Disclaimer: Came from a system w/ a bad mobo that got upgraded to an P4C.

I would like all 3 of you to get 1 of them so please come to a conclusion democratically. I will be back tomorrow night. Play nice and more more more more!

I'm dying for the 2500+ folks. I've been watching them on the F/S forums for months now. I have an nForce2 system that does NOTHING but crunch FaD 24/7, that CPU would increase my rating a solid 50 points! I could then cobble together another cruncher with the old XP1600+ that's in there now.....this amounts to a pretty good gain for the TeAm! :D

No need for PM, let's just get this done, all I want is the 2500+. Overkiller - Gimme your palpay email so I can send you the shipping $$$....points are wasting away with that CPU just sitting there, LOL. :)

Anything over XP2000+ is most welcome to inhabit any number of nforce2, 3, ... boards I have here.

I've got a couple of boards that are processorless ... they would crunch FaD ...

Don't confuse our system with a true democracy

History is great...except that no one pays attention to the lessons that SHOULD be learned :)

I'll greatfully accept the 2400. It will replace an 1800, which will retire a Duron 1.3. More for the TeAm!!!

There was a method to my madness.

I've built around 50 pc's for various people throughout the past 3 years.

I've decided to just step away as I never EVER charged anything and, because I am an idiot, sometimes even put in some of my own money to help out some of my less...secure....friends put together a proper system. I always just wrote off all my time testing/researching/troubleshooting as doing friends favors.

Frankly it's too much a waste of my time for nothing at a point when I have NO time. So i'm getting rid of basically everything that I have which I could cobble together another system with. Granted I am keeping items such as network cards, spare power supply and such for my own systems but I'm sure many of you know/have been where I am.

Waste of time in large part for people that wouldn't know a proper system with quality parts versus a Compaq running at 65% where it should be running due to 500 background programs and cheaper/poorer quality parts.
