NOT worth it. The S/H easily costs more than the glasses and shipping combined!

Not sure about your area, but here, you can get the same quality polarized glasses and other stylish sun glasses from rest stops on the interstate. In major cities, many street vendors carry the same quality (ie. kinda low) for cheap. They are typically 1 for $10 or 3 for $20. These are really the only sunglasses I buy because the optical quality is good and I really don't care if I accidently smash them, if they fall apart a couple of years down the road, or otherwise get thrashed from use. I would be really pissed if I paid $100 for sunglasses and did the same thing (which I probably would).

So recommended if you can't find them locally!

OH, yeah: it is always good to buy locally so you can try them on. Glasses have a way of looking good alone, but terrible on you! Also, you don't get an appreciate for fit and size sometimes. Thirdly, Walmart actually has some decent polarized glasses that look good too. I love polarized glasses! Definitely prefer them over regular sunglasses.

They have no UV protection and are worse for your eyes than no sunglasses at all. If your eyes are worth less than $70, by all means keep breaking cheap sunglasses.

I have ordered sun glasses from Playboy (different brand name) & from another magazine. They look cool on paper, but heed my warning - they ARE NOT WORTH even $1.00! They are of extremely poor quality. I have 3 of those in my dresser unused & the one I did try to use didn't fit well & broke.

these deals are in magazines all the time. I have ordered them before, they are cheap and nothing special. I usually get cheap sunglasses anyway though cause I always end up loosing them or breaking them.

I agree with carlwu. I have bough several from rest areas & local stores & I have been very happy. Just because they are cheap doesn't mean they are necessarily that awful. However, you do need to choose them carefully for fit & finish. By paying 10 X more if the quality only improves marginally, then I don't thing the designer ware are worth. Also don't forget, you do pay a premium simply for the brand name.

This was posted somewhere else, which is where I saw the ad. I was only charged $17 so it's worth it if you ask me. Let's hope the sunglasses are at least decent.

Ok fellas, the point of polarized sunglasses aren't for UV protection... they're for severely reducing glare from reflected surfaces. They were perfected for fishing purposes as they almost make you see through the water in shallow areas where the fish are. BUT, this deal still isn't hot as I can go to the local outdoor place and get some decent polarized shades WITH UV protection (which is just and added bonus) for the same price. Don't have to wait for shipping and they look better.

These glasses don't ruin your eyes faster than no sunglasses at all... that's just the dumbest thing I've ever heard. A freaking window serves more protection than just your eyes alone so any sunglasses would be better than nothing. It's the looking directly into the sun to test them out that screws your eyes up.

All I am doing here is simply offering my experience with this deal:

A while back some other eyewear company had their same deal - free sunglasses, just pay shipping. I bought through them (forget the name), and was satisfied. Got a decent pair of sunglasses for about $15.

Then this winter I jumped into my car, after de-icing it and sat right on them, breaking them.

Now I see this deal in Maxim/FHM or whatever and see it as an opportunity to replace them. I go online and purchase a pair. My credit card is charged $13 as expected, and they came in the mail a few days later. Sweet I thought.

I am very happy with the sunglasses, HOWEVER. I look at my Credit Card history and ANOTHER charge of $19.90 had been charged to my credit card, on top of the original $13. WTF. So I call their support line and it's busy, day after day. "I just got scammed" I thought. Finally I get through about a week later. The lady (rather rude, from dealing with angered callers such as myself all week) informed me that I did not purchase a pair of sunglasses, but a SUBSCRIPTION to 2 pairs every month. I said NO, I did not do this, it said nowhere on the site about it. She said it does say on the site. I retorted that it did not and she said she cancelled the subscription, and since the 2 new pairs had already been shipped, I just have to wait to receive them, write "return to sender" on the box and give them back to the mailman for my refund. So now I am waiting to do that.

Out of curiosity, I went through their online ordering form again in search of notice of this subscription and did not see anything about it.

So that is MY experience, hopefully yours are different, but PLEASE check your billing history!
