just saw that part. how lame soem companies are.

WTF....

They give you free pancakes and you want to complain because they ask (don't require) you to make a small donation to CHARITY?

You don't belong on Hot Deals, you belong on Cheapass Central.

fairly lame on their part. Valid times are 7AM till 2PM. That excludes 90% of the working population. 🙁 Boo on them!

wth, their already giving away free breakfast and their still lame to you. what else do you want? delivery? some people just cant be satisfied...

pancakes are breakfast food anyway so their times are just right, as you can see they extended it till 2PM so for the lunch goers around 12 or 1 are still able to eat it. their not lame for not being able to satisfy "90% of the working population," which really means just you.

Last I checked 90% of working population got a lunch break before 2pm. 9am-5pm is the classic 40 hour workweek right? That means the 7am is early enough to have breakfast too.

I went and had an IHOP breakfast. My first time at IHOP. Good stuff. The food was good, the service was good. I got a chicken ceasar salad along with my short stack, the salad was very tasty, good chicken, I liked the way they spiced the chicken. I also liked the variety of the syrups that they have.
The IHOP I went to was near a university, and still no wait to be seated. The normal wait for the food to be served. So no massive crowds and 1 hour waits like some people were saying would happen.

For all those concerned or whining about the charity thing this is the way it worked at the IHOP I went to. At the door is a guy asking people who come in if they want to donate and handing out a pamphlet. I just walked by him. When you get the bill, the paper folder its in is a little paper that requests money.
Thats it. No obligation. If you've ever walked past salvation army at walmart asking for donations, you've experianced more pressure than at IHOP. I didn't feel pressured, and no store employee asked me for anything.

All in all I had a good time.

Just got back. No waiting, the pancakes were good, and we each got a side of eggs at .99/egg. Made us feel like donating to the reading charity, even tho no one there "suggested" it.
