So what are you in for? Murder, but it was a bum rap. And you? I shipped a box of legos to my nephew in a priority mail shipping box, but I used UPS. I got off light though. Only 2 years, 1 with good behavior.

UPS and FedEx will gladly accept packages using USPS boxes though... To them, it's just a competitor getting screwed. LoL

Actually that's not true they have free boxes too for their premium services. It is not a federal crime for USPS to accept the free FedEx and UPS boxes but it is for FedEx and UPS to accept USPS boxes. It comes down to the honor code I am sure. One will not accept the boxes of the other so that they will do the same for them.

Of course I have never done this but....

I bet if you pulled on that glued seam.. and like ripped it apart.. and then like turned it inside-out... and then taped that edge....

Thanks, I missed the other thread. got 25 of each box and 1 roll of tape...no need to re-use boxes now 🙂

Edit:

a lot of PO's around my area stopped carrying the free shipping supplies..they make you buy their boxes, tape, and bubble wrap...no dice

there were a couple of yahoo stores taht I ordered from that took these usps boxes took them apart and reversed them and shipped them ups or fedex ...always wondered why, now i know 🙂

not sure if someone answered ur question yet, but if the package is under 1lb, the postman can pickup. 1 to 2lbs depend on how nice ur postman is. anything above 2lb is definitely required to be take to the post office.

Priority mail is really only a deal when you ship something under a pound. Anything over that you'll get better rates from both UPS and FedEx. And FedEX also will give you free shipping supplies. I know because I have a 25 pack sitting right here in my office. plus it's pretty cool that i can just have UPS or FedEx stop at my house and pick up the package. The shipping gets billed to my credit card. No need to deal with the Post Office mess.

Funny, my PO mailman will pick up any package I'm sending via USPS and then bring the bill the next day.........no need to go to the PO in person.

Repost, however a good one if you would change the topic to say Free Packing supplies with USPS Priority.

That's against the 'law' of USPS, if you wanted to be a big jerk you could report them 🙂

I'm glad they have the 12"x12", for a long time they didnt have any at all. Which sucks because it's perfect for sending most things, and on the plus side i really dont mind paying the extra fee especially when they provide a lot of the packing materials for free.

I would have no qualms about reporting someone inverting the boxes. It's that kind of trick that has contributed to raising the price of Priority mail through the roof.

Until recently, Priority mail was a great deal: Up to 2 pounds, shipped anywhere in the US, for $2.90, then $3.00, then $3.20...Add a buck a pound for heavier packages, anywhere in the US. Now it's $3.85 for up to ONE pound. Above 1 pound, and you pay by the distance to the destination. Much crappier deal. MUCH MUCH crappier deal.

I used to use the USPS for almost everything. Now I only use them for light parcels...

USPS is good for what they do. Lines at pickup can be irritating at times, but espeshilly during the holidays, we must be patient....
Thanks for the deal reminder. I'm in for some boxes and tape. I think they might look good under the xmas tree..... hehe

I just learned today that you do not need to use Priority BOXES to ship via Priority. Any regular brown box will do. You just need the tape and some labels... which you can get from the site above for free.

This is helpful if their package dimensions do not fit what you are looking for...

exactly....I use all shippers, but priority used to be a WAY better deal, then they went Zone Based and raised their rates.

I still get items packed in inside out boxes or even actual priority boxes shipped through UPS ground or FedEx ground....I haven't reported any, but I always call them and flame. I am pissed the $2.90 is no longer around and now $3.85....this happened fast.

Even once I talked to USPS and they said boxes have been reported being THROWN OUT in bulk on trash days from the lazy people that order the 25-50 box minimum online and throw out the rest.

They used to be my choice to about 5lbs, now if it's not flat rate pack or less than a pound I use FedEx Home Delivery/Ground.

🙁

What would happen if I received an item through Priority Mail in a Priority Mail box but then I reused the box to ship something through another service? Am I going to jail?

😕

Careful -- mess up here and you may be arrested by a post officer.

Of course, it will take them 3-5 days to arrive at your home 😉
