Compusa rebates = $0

I'm sorry if you have problems with CompUSA rebates. If you don't like them, don't do them. I have gotten every one (more than 20) which shows your statement to be incorrect.

I don't shop @ CompUsa much anymore just because I'm too lazy to drive there(Staples deals kill them for me most of the time) but
I've always had very good success with my CompUSA rebates, which must total to be over 1G easy.

Forgot to say thanks for the post!

Well, if you guys were smart enough, you should have made copies. Then, if they don't send your rebate, that's what Small Claims Court is for. Most likely they will send you your rebate check cause a company like CompUSA doesn't have time to waste on one person.

I was owed two rebates from buying memory sticks at CompUSA. I had received an e-mail confirmation on one of them, but the check never came. Never got any acknowledgement of the second one. When I checked at wheresmyrebate.com, it showed no outstanding rebates for me. I called the local store, and was told to bring the documentation (my copies of the forms and receipts) in so they could research it. A couple of days later, they called and said they would give me a gift card in the amount of the rebates. I would have the option of using the gift card, or cashing it in. I went in and got the gift card, but have not yet used it.

I told the assistant manager who was helping me what a bad reputation they have on their rebates. She says their management is aware of the problem, and is changing their rebate fulfillment process and company.

In any case, the local store handled it to my satisfaction. And neither check has ever showed up.

As always, YMMV.

Jeez, I got my 100 back on that deal months ago. Dunno what happened with you guys :)

Anyways, great deal on the rechargeable batteries - 4 AAA 600 mAh for 10 with the charger isnt bad, and with the rebate, how can you pass it up?

thx

Dunno about any of the other deals, but the 4-in-1 PDA pen seems to be available online as well. Not quite as hot buying in store, but if the others are also available online (which I imagine they are) than there's still some hope for folks like me that don't have a CompUSA nearby.

A possible word of warning - the wording of the rebate slip in the store might mean that only one of either Universal Starter Kit, PDA Rapid Charger, or Gear 2 Go products can get the $10 rebate. So you may not be able to get both the charger and the starter kit for free AR.

The wording in question reads: Purchase a Gear 2 Go, Universal Starter Kit, or PDA Rapid Charger at CompUSA between 08/17/02 and 08/24/02.

Also note: the rebate form requires the ORIGINAL RECEIPT.

One more note - the Gear 2 Go kit for iPaq or Palm m500 (SKU 293197 or 290130), which is shown in the flyer as $49.99 - $10 instant - $10 MIR = 29.99 (and on compusa.com as $39.99 with no rebate shown) instead rang up at the B&M store for $29.99, and it should be eligible for the $10 rebate too - YMMV - I had the rapid charger on the same receipt, and so unfortunately it looks like I can only get one of them (I may return the rapid charger and re-buy it on a different cash register receipt).

Doorknob, I assume you can return the PDA charger and then just re-buy it on a new receipt (and rebate form)? Or will New Rochelle catch that one as well?

I agree the CompUSA rebates can be a serious hassle. It's not a matter of getting the rebates or not, I aways have, eventually. The problem is waiting eight months for something that they claim will take only two, and it's happened to me more than once. Normally these rebates (CompUSA) come in three to four months, and on occasion, one does make it under the two month mark. Just be aware when dealing with rebates, and especially the rebate center in New Rochelle, NY, that it's going to take some time. Of course you still need to be sure to keep copies of everything and follow up by making the phone calls when those rebates are running late.

IMO,
D.

Does the turner allow you to watch TV without having an aol account?
I am thinking of using it external turner for my video capture card instead of the vcr i'm using.
