Free Online RPG: Progress Quest

Spent days playing Everquest? How about Ultima Online or Dark Age of Camelot?

I know I've dumped way too much time in money into those. The solution: Progress Quest

http://www.progressquest.com

The download is free, the file is small, and I must say it is the most innovative rpg I've yet seen. I'm interested to hear some comments regarding it. Oh, and I have a level 3 Panda Man Mage Illusioner right now. Enjoy!

That is just plain odd........

At least it simplifies the quest for advancement of RPG characters

Thanks for a chuckle!

this is a joke for those of you who don't want to spend your time trying it out. all you do is roll your character and hit go. the program which is text based - well no graphics - fights monsters and does everything for you. you just watch your experience and gold, etc go up.

I like this alot:

Q: Everybody on the forums is talking about 3D mode, but I can't seem to activate it. Is it all bunk?
A: The shading around the progress bars and buttons and so on gives them sort of a 3D feel.

🙂

This is the fastest I've ever learned to play a game. Very easy. Alt+F4 = Exit. That's all you have to remember! I have a -2 burlap.

Statbuilder is the best, these games are better then the MMORPG's out today, MMORPG's = non-interactive bad movies.

hehehe... its sad how interested i am in it. i actually enjoy watching it... but i guess that would explain the 50,000+ users. join us... its fun...

Terasie - now lvl 28

all my character files got screwed.. stream read error 🙁

At any rate.. got up to 59 or maybe 60... 🙁 ah well it was fun while it lasted hehe.

Ah I remember playing these things (text-based MUDS) back in '92 on the school lab terminals. Very addictive.. failed many-a-midterms because of them. 🙂 The few i played most frequently were Ivory Tower, Kingdoms and Tsunami. I quit a long time ago though because they were too time consuming.

You can find a ton of text based rpgs at http://www.mudconnector.com

gene

p.s. if you go to kingdoms (still up and runnning), I was the one that programmed the shop system there. 😀 It's like a working economic system where you can buy land and setup your own shops to sell heal potions, equipment and whatnot to other players.
