Recently found this website...no idea if its legit, but seems interesting.

Basically they offer older versions of current software. Under the help menu it says that they only offer versions that have become free from the manufacturer.

They basically offer older versions of freeware, like AIM. For example, since most people don't want to use the new AIM Triton since it has a lot of bloat, they'll grab an older version from the site.
 
No big deal. Most of that stuff has been widely available as freeware and shareware, or trial versions, anyway.
 
it looks like it might be hosted inside the US, so if it is illegal, they'll get shutdown pretty fast
