So is passing judgement against someone else just because you don't agree with their morals/attitude/etc. If what people do is not legal, then the law should judge them, not you.

Actually, when it comes to Japanese animation, the legality of the distribution and downloading of an unlicensed property has no legal precidence. For this reason, fansub groups have virtually unlimited access to these programs. The minute the series has been licensed in the US (or Japan), fansub groups are supposed to stop all fansubbing (in adherence to International Copyright Law), and retroactively remove all previous fansubs from their servers/distribution networks. Downloading after a license has been declared is fully illegal, and most fansub groups and individuals respect licensing agreements.

And unlike US television, most series are shown over the air unlicensed, so fansubbing is very vibrant and active.

HAHAHA I don't even download from newsgroups but this has to be the funniest post I've ever seen on this board. It's just so reasonable.

Michael, just accept the way of the future. There is no way to stop the leeching. The media will have to adapt. Dont be like the seniors that wish things to go back to the good old days. This is part of the internet. Embrace it as you have embraced internet porn. ;)
