What a lame offer by Netzero to try and get people "hooked" on their "premium" service. Three whole days trial...

The sad thing is, is that I'm sure it will work. After seeing all the banners, IE windows that DON'T CLOSE and STAY ON TOP until you click on a sponsor link, etc, etc. on a friend's Netzero "Regular" account, people will think they're getting the shiznit in internet access with Premium.

Guess I'll suffer with my DSL also 😉

Keyzer, thanks for that great revelation. Fact is that dial-up is still the way the majority of those on the Internet connect, with many factors affecting their not using broadband. Just because you have been blessed by a big pipe doesn't mean that those of us who are &quot;weak&quot; for using &quot;weak&quot; dial-up are inferior.
 
Netzero is giving that away so they can let their customers experience what the platinum service is like.

Methinks Netzero goes out of business by the end of the year.

i get 500Kbytes/sec sustained. nuff said. I hear ya dialup users, we all had it once, so snobs, pay homage!

Actually cracking bluelight is easy. Its a decent 56k hook-up. Only problem is that it kicks me off after 40 mins. Some of us live to far from the C.O., so be nice.
 
actually this depends on where you live. When I'm in college I have road runner and it's incredible. When for one reason or another I fall back to 56K modems Netzero's unusably slow. But when I'm back in NYC over vacations I rely on Netzero which is extremely fast (faster than most other isps i've tried).
 
BTW- those of you NetZero users who get the &quot;Surf Safari&quot; window at the top of IE: It is a program that you can uninstall. I put up with it for a month before realizing you can uninstall it. 🙂

NZ was nice while I was in the period between my T3 at school and getting my 2.5 Mbps cable modem at my apt.

They are pouring millions into advertising during NBA games and other times.. I am wondering how they manage to stay in business...
Good Ol' 5 megabit Optimum Online Cable here.. $29.95 a month..
Downloading 100 meg mp3 mixes in about 5 minutes..
Worst case get DSL or AOL DSL...

Those speeds can be reached and exceeded. You gotta realize what those DSL/Cable owners are downloading off the net to appreciate it. Take a guess. 😉
 
anyone thik about how hypocritical netzero is
if you remember their first ads it was for free internet and now they will charge 10 bucks or so wow love their commitment to free internet
that just my $.02

oh by the way i do have cable and the only time i use or need the speed is for mp3s or other non pornographic items as eluded to by GundamF91
