I think it might be too good to be true. But even if it isn't, it is 'app' not AP. AP is Associated Press, app is short for application. :)

sorry for the AP error.

So far the mp3 are around 3mb in size so decent quality. It will probably get shut down soon. Will tell her to download everything she wants until then.

Was able to transfer the songs in my computer so as far as I can tell there are no restrictions.

Definitely sounds too good to be true. By the way, what information does the app collect? I would be careful it doesn't have privy to some information you might not want to share (contacts and what not). Was the app side-loaded or was it on the store?

it is a market place app, it does have a small ad when using their player but you can open the MP3 with other players.

There are a ton of these in the market, the same app packaged as something else. It's almost a guarantee that all are illegal.

I've noticed the Marketplace is full of illegal shit. If it was anyone else besides Google behind it I believe it would have long been shut down. I still wonder how the fuck Google gets away with all the copy write infringements on there.

copyRIGHT?

Anyway, I think they warn people that they don't moderate their store so proceed at their own risk. They provide the means of running an app market but (supposedly) have removed themselves from liability.

Well, the permissions don't look TOO shifty:
MP3 Music Download Advanced requires these permissions:
Network communication
full Internet access, view network state
Storage
modify/delete SD card contents, modify/delete SD card contents
Phone calls
read phone state and identity
System tools
restart other applications, prevent phone from sleeping, modify global system settings
but I still wouldn't trust it.
