Most of the courses that I saw on this website are nothing more than a syllabus and a list of assignments. So the experience is far from taking the class itself. Although its nice to have a collection of easy to find classes accessible through one site.

The intro to Computer Science/ Electrical Engineering is one of the best courses anyone who is interested in programming can take.

There are a set of videos here from the first edition of the book:

I first used this book in a Lisp/AI class in 1989 and I'm doing it again now. If you understand this stuff, you will truly be way ahead in true "computer science" and a better programmer and thinker to boot!

If the SCIP does not fit your style, try this course:
http://www.htdp.org/2003-09-26/

There is a complete set of books, courseware, and programming environment available there as well.

Enjoy!

My brain hurts, but I am starting to understand how a jet engine works. Links, to links to links, ended up in a similar educational thing at nasa.

TIA, Loon,
I'm certain that more than a few of us will need some of what this offers. 😀😀😀

Stephen Roberts - Someday he may get a life, but I doubt it.

It would be better if all the courses had video recorded lectures. None I looked at did, if some do. If some do, they should note it in the list.. So you can check out the ones with actual instructors.

Yeah MIT has been working on this for a few years. Thanks for reminding me, I need to go check it out one of these days.

Reading lecture slides isn't thay great either if you don't have a background in the material. I guess it's helpful if you're currently taking a similar course and need an alternative (read: better) explanation on some things.

Good find, thanks OP 🙂
