If you already owned Bioshock 2 on Steam you just received Minerva's Den DLC for free. Otherwise it cost $9.99 on its own and it is the first time it has been on Steam. This means GFWL has been removed from Bioshock 2 now.

Is it bad that I had to check to see if I owned it? :p Fortunately, I do! Yay!

Wait what? I own it but haven't gotten around to playing it yet. What's GFWL and did I miss something?

It's not listed in the DLC list :( but the steam store page says I own it?

I really liked Bioshock 2 and I did purchase Minerva's Den when it was released on PC (took them a while originally...). It's a really fun DLC too!

Excellent. I've heard it's supposed to be pretty good for DLC.

Also note that if you own a non-steam version of BioShock 2 (retail or another digital vendor), you can now activate it on Steam with the same product code and get access to the free DLC.

I'm pleased about Minerva. What was essentially unattainable to me before was given to me for free on Steam. That's good customer service from Valve and the developer.

I really, really wish the MP on PC was ever active. I was one of the top ranked players on console (I was basically the master at setting traps) but enjoyed the game much more on PC. The MP was amazingly fun to play but unfortunately got overshadowed but the likes of COD.

Very nice, and good riddance to GFWL. That software was horrible crap. I initially had all kinds of problems getting BioShock 2 to run because of it. I'm guessing that the only downside is no more Live achievements for playing BioShock on PC?

Will have to try reinstalling ... tho just a few days ago it would crash constantly when the gfwl loaded. Mebbe they decoupled the gfwl bs now.

I would love to see more games follow this route. I really despise GFWL with a passion.

Remember how it was going to save PC gaming? ^_^

I think I'm one of the few people who prefers Bioshock Infinite over the first two games. Nice to get free DLC though. Which all games would offer this once they get to a certain age.
