For those of you who don't know or haven't yet pieced this together. The address for the new TigerDirect.com outlet store is the same as the Global Computer outlet store (175 Ambassador Dr).

It is my belief that this is just the rebranding of the retail location.

As further proof please remember that Global Computer, Tiger Direct, and Dartek are all Systemax companies.

Occassionally, the Global Computer outlet has a decent deal or two. However, since they are primarily a catalog sales company, primarily working/relying on corporate full ticket price sales, the deals are rare.

Is this the MS Photoviewer?

I'll try my luck and try to be one of the first 50 customers. 28 miles from home. ;)

Strange that I did not get this e-mail. I always get e-mail from TigerDirect on any sales they have. :frown:

I'm sure there would be tons of people coming there for free photoviewer, .... and it's pretty risky form me to drive 45 miles just to find out that I'm not one of the first 50. The deals advertised as specials look pretty normal ... eg. a $20 rebate on obsolete panasonic DVD-R ... I mean who buys 1X DVD-R these days?

And by the way ... squirrelproductions ... do you work for Tiger Direct?

Sorry ... to suspect you!

Well, believe me, you won't be loosing out on anything if you are out of town ... this outlet is just a way for tiger direct to rob people directly instead of by mail ;)

First time user. Thanks for the thread. I thought I would update my experiece.:)

I got to the Naperville store "grand opening" about an hour after it openned. It
was in a Global Computer store. All the "coupons" like "first 10 to buy" has been
handed out and the checkout lines were very long. They were still handing out the
M/S Photoviewers so I picked up one. They had some fair deals on systems but you
had to have a coupon to get the best deal. Otherwise, it was just some normal
sales pricing. I saw that a few people got lucky because a few coupons were
left discarded, i.e. early bird ended up not using the coupon. They also were
selling a lot of stuff from their "returns area". I looked at a re-furbished Emachines
Celeron 2.0 basic system for $399 and a Proview 15" LCD ($219 after MIR) but the
lines were too long and the prices were average without the coupons. With the
coupons, I think the Emachines was $349 and the LCD was $199.

Bottom line- I got a free M/S Photoviewer, a free hot dog, a US Roboitics water bottle
and I joined the forum. I'll try to bring some threads in the future. Thanks.

P.S. Is there a dictionary ;) for all the abbreviations, word usage, i.e. bump, etc? :D
