My outlook also had strange issues. I deleted my mail profile(s) and recreated them. Everything was fine afterwards.
It stated that you at least had to delete any IMAP Server access and re-create them after the install.

I think lot of people (like me) are still hesitant to install O 2007 because they might loose their present installation of Office!

It's not an upgrade. It's a stand-alone app. I have several components of 2003 still installed along side 2007.
Also the way it worked out for me. Although I have yet to save a .doc file in '07 & try to edit in '03.:thumbsdown::thumbsup:

You can save them as compatible. 07 documents in general add an "x", i.e. .xlsx.

For the record it is Office 2007, not 2006.
I have downloaded and installed this and it seems fairly stable. Just be aware though that it is beta and I'd avoid installing it on a production machine.

can you do parallel installation of Office 2003 and Office 2007? I don't want to loose complete Office 2003 that Ihave installed on my only machine.

It let me install Visio 2007 side by side with my previous VISIO.

Outlook 2007 beta 2 is improved a lot over the technical refresh build which always ran at 100% cpu when I opened any email. Sadly the options dialog box does not load.

I've actually had each of the Office 2007 betas (Beta 1, Beta 1 Tech Refresh, Beta 2) installed on my work PC and I use them for my technical writing. I love it.

There are some issues with saving big, complicated docs that are authored in 2007 in 2003 compatibility mode, yet. When it happens, I just copy and paste the 2007 doc directly into a 2003, reset a few page setup options, and I'm good to go.

But yea, I love writing my IEEE format docs using the new style bar in 2007 and the new "SmartArt" is a blast.

word, powerpoint, excel, and publisher look much nicer and updated, and they are actually pretty stable too.

Same here. I retried the the next day, went through on my other 2 machines fine.;)

It installed fine on my PC's saving my O 2003 also. I can now access both until I decide If it's worth it or as good!

There is one MAJOR thing that I don't like about Office 12 (or whatever they will call it!)

If you have a menu in VBA that adds after File/Edit/View, etc - it won't function in the new version of Excel! I have an application that has 60 menu choices on 3 pulldowns, and I have to tell my users to stick with XP or 2003, because MS tried to get fancy.

I downloaded SmartSource for Microsoft Office Downloads but I can't seem to login. I type in the email that I registered with microsoft but I get an error with "User profile synchronization can not proceed! The email address specified is invalid! Please contact customer support or try again." This is the email that microsoft sent the cd key and the download link? What gives???? Anyone had this problem?

How large a doc can you copy&paste? Max pages and with pics?
