Free : Microsoft Office 2007 Beta 2

For the record it is Office 2007, not 2006.
I have downloaded and installed this and it seems fairly stable. Just be aware though that it is beta and I'd avoid installing it on a production machine.

what happens after the official is released?

if i start using the beta, is it hard to revert back to 2003 while preserving all my outlook data?

Expiration Date
All 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 software has an expiration date of February 1, 2007. After expiration, 2007 Microsoft Office system Beta 2 will continue to work in a reduced functionality mode that limits your options and operations.

Info shared with colleagues. Thanks!

They sure make you jump through a lot of hoops just to download a beta program.

I've been using all of the betas at work up to this point. They're getting more and more stable. I can even close Outlook now without it crashing!

However, I can't activate either. Seems like the process might be hosed.

I got the email with the keys, but I never got the download link? Anyone have the link I need?

the last page you go to has the cd key, and the link on the left is the download link (it's not obvious)

Is it just me or has M$ become obsessed with sniffing my entire LAN for a whiff of anything not "legal" (per the M$ definition), and doing it on a daily basis?

You can now trust M$ to allow backwards compatibility with all of their new "open document formats".
{Sarcasm, folks, nothing but propaganda.)

I am unable to activate also. I really don't initially care for the new look. But I will see if it grows on me.
While I like the tabbed interface in Opera and FF, it's usefulness remains to be seen in a Word doc.

Does the reduced functionality implied "READ ONLY" version of Word, Excel after the expiration date?
If that is the case, I don't want to waste my time.
