Thinking about picking up one of these combos, deciding between the 2 PhenomII's. Leaning towards the X3 720BE just because its 3core but I hear you can unlock the other 2 cores on the X2 555BE's. Does anyone know if the Gigabyte 760G motherboards support the unlocking? I'm not very familiar with the current gen of AMD tech.

You need to have a SB710 chipset and you should be set.

Just do some quick searches and most the Gigabyte mobo's have 710's.
